Market America Scam Business Review: Is Market America a Pyramid Scheme?
Because of my experience in the Online Marketing Industry, I have had many people ask me, “Is Market America is a pyramid scheme?” or “Is there a such thing as the “Market America Scam”? So I have decided to conduct a business review of this company and this is what I have learned.
Company:
Market America is a Network Marketing company located in Greensboro, North Carolina and started in 1992 by James Ridinger, who was previously a part of Amway. Market America refers to themselves as the “unfranchise”, which means that they offer all the benefits of a traditional franchise without the usual fees typically associated with a regular franchise. They are also a product brokerage specializing in mass customization.
Products:
Instead of producing their own products, Market America determines which products are in high demand through customer surveys and then enlists a manufacturer to research, develop and produce those products. Market America markets these products in a range of categories from skin care to health and nutrition, through the networking of it’s unfranchise owners.
Business and Compensation Plan:
The Market America company is a part of the network marketing industry where each member builds their business by recruiting new people to join the company and become unfranchise owners as well. The members are required to recruit one person on the left and one on the right side of their business and become qualified by purchasing 200BV worth of product with a transfer of 50-150BV every month. A “BV” is equal to 80% of every dollar spent, so 0 spent would be worth 80BV. When a member’s team begins to grow, they start to accumulate points, and once they have reached a certain amount of points on their left and right sides, they will start receiving commission checks.
Market America Scam? The Conclusion:
So is Market America a pyramid scheme or a scam? It does not appear so. They are a legitimate business that markets a variety of products through network marketing. For a person to be able to successfully build a Market America business, they will need to attend and/or conduct trainings and seminars, hotel meetings and home presentations.
But if you are not interested in recruiting friends or family and attending or conducting meetings in order to make money, then this is probably not the business for you. I would continue searching in other home business industries, such as the Online Marketing Industry, which teaches how to properly market online in order to drive traffic to your websites and have people searching for you instead of you having to go out and recruit and sell. The best online opportunity will be able to train you how to use the best marketing techniques to do this so that you can build a successful internet business and have true financial freedom!
